Differential Sub-Surface Telemetry — Core vs Edge

A multi-node I2C array mapping the thermal gradient across the Hügelkultur mound: a Core Matrix sensor in the dense aggregate and an Edge Boundary sensor in the aerated stick zone, with the differential as the crash early-warning.

Two zones

Core Matrix: deep in the compacted sawdust and manure aggregate — the thermal battery. Edge Boundary: near the perimeter in the loose stick zone — aerated, fast to exchange with ambient air, first to feel a crash.

The alert

A widening core-to-edge differential means the thermal crash is penetrating. That is the signal to deploy the albedo perimeter seals before the root core is reached.

Data rule

Fine-grain readings stay on site. Only aggregated canonical numbers ever leave — the same rule as the wider field sensor array.
